Ok I read chapter 2 and I dropped it. I need an MC with some backbone. He was spineless the second after he stood up for her. Here’s what would’ve been aura:
“Hey. She was calling a friend.” - MC
“Huh? And you know this how?!” - bitchass teacher
gets up in his face, away from her
“I live close to her. I can practically hear her with how thin the walls are.”

straightens his back
(He can have a little false bravado here, as long as he keeps a straight face, maybe make him sweat)
“Well prove it to me!” - bitchass teacher
“Sir, I get your concern. But how about you prove she was flirting with men in a hotel? This is all just a back and forth between me and you at this point, but you can verify I live near her, nobody can verify you saw her with a man at a hotel. Let’s just end this here.” - MC, sweating but brave
“Ugh.. fine.” - bitchass teacher

Another story that came to be for literally no reason, I know it's hard to do actual romance without a drama but God damn if someone could fall in love just because of something like this, the world would be a crazy place

a lot of the ppl keepin sayin the most surface level comment
like
why wont the MC just go for it and smth
i wont say all of those ppl
but im sure most of u never tried go on a full time job and go to night school or the other way around, full day school then full night shift, 5 or even 6 days a week
its exhausting, both physically and mentally
i tried it and thinking back about it already im tired mentally
if a girl was pushing me like that during my hardest time
i mightve snapped at her for being annoying, cuz id be so tired and braindead to have reacted any other way
of course i will then regret it for the rest of my life but still
its just reality of the state i was in
not to mention hes just a student, with no backup plans, jumping into a big city by himself with no support
im not saying anyone would snap like i wouldve but i will say this,
not everyone is rocking a well trained body, trained for years both physically and mentally to handle hard times like this.

Had started reading this with no expectations except that it was likely some generic rom com slop. However, something about it made me more interested and decided to read the light novel up to the current release, and oh my, this is actually a really good story.
Sure the plot seems overdone (next door popular waifu loves spineless loser MC) but once we get into the meat of the story and the development of MC's and FMC's relationship, it really does go beyond surface level and a deeper connection is formed.
MC isn't as spineless as he's made out to be in the beginning and FMC is hilarious. I am interested to see how this manga adapts the remainder of the source material.
