what the fuck is this ending. Overall good manga, i thought main story arcs were a bit meh but stand alone chapters were pretty great. Last ~5 or so volumes were that so i enjoyed it.

7/10, enjoyed it.
The police chief driving off a bridge into a 200m ravine and dying felt a bit weird, thought it would have a twist, but I guess not.

I think this is one of these stories that doesn't necessarily need an ending (tho it would be so much better if it did). I think it's because they already tell you what's gonna happen. He'll keep fighting and living for his family untill his brain disease kills him, but he will die surrounded by the family he created.

I completely agree with you. I can't lie, I feel like the story actually improved after the police chief died. I wish we actually found out what happened but I respect the author's balls for not explaining everything or having all the plot points end nicely (like when he met his mom without knowing).
