A great story, maybe 10/10 but was axed and was a very open ending, need season 2, then is a 9/10
There are a lot of holes in the story
  • Tori
  • Tori's dad
  • Alice
  • The tournament
I need more =(

I really enjoyed the story overall with a lot of humor and action with some unique ways of depicting trauma. It does suffer from pacing issues in the latter half and by the end, it was clearly cut short. There was a lot of potential and I was engrossed to see how this manhua would address the MC coming to terms and accepting who they are. Really loved the first arc with all of the slice of life and establishing how outlandish this fighting school was. The plot does get into traumas that can be quite overly dramatic at points, but they are real issues that people do face, especially when it comes past traumas that follow and shape who we are. Moreover, it is a massive character growth story, and it is quite endearing on various segments, just dragged down by the pacing and numerous plotlines at times. A good 8/10 from me.

Heavy spoilers ahead, but these are things that would have really made it stand above and beyond if these questions could have been answered before being axed:

  1. Tori - I understand that in the last couple chapters before the end during the tournament, Troy (as Tori) goes into the locker to see if the claustrophobia is still a massive issue. Glad to see that it is overcome, yet I really hope this doesn't mean that Tori (her soul per se) is truly gone though. I would like to see a mend of Tori's return as Troy would like to have her return and be more confident, and perhaps follow through with the Zed romance if Tori does come back because of how she felt subconsciously.

  2. Tori's Biological father - This had so much potential of being resolved and giving Tori some peace if we are to go the route of her not wanting to return to the living world. I personally would have wanted to see how Troy (as Tori) would face her biological father. Or perhaps, have her step-father (Frank) beat him down legally and put him away in bars for good. Just having him go away after getting a wad of cash, I really felt like he would come back and reach out again after hearing news that Tori survived her fall.

  3. Tori's Friends/MMA Club - These characters were unfortunately swept aside for the last arc in favor of the tournament, especially as Sunny showed tenacity, Winnie having guts/strength and Julia having the brain and technique. Furthermore, cannot forget about Alice who was mysteriously removed after the bully sequence, had a lot of potential of either breaking their oath of not fighting or coming into rescue Tori from something worse that could loom in the future. There was a lot of potential here that is unfortunately going to be left unanswered.

  4. Troy - His story is definitely not over, as he has harnessed the power of Chi and has accelerated his adaptation to Tori's form, so I do wonder if he can fulfill that wish that Tori had of being the strongest woman or something. Obviously, I would like him to continue the relationship with Rain and they make much more of a dynamic couple like the author originally was going for, but then had to add Zed into the love triangle. In addition, I get that the author wants to make him an all-round unbeatable force and good guy, but hopefully he can break the mentality of being so focused on the strongest "man", it got to be a bit grating after a while. But I suppose I am happy to see that the story does address some issues that can happen in being a woman in China at least and that Troy is doing his best for Tori when/where he can. Also, maybe answer what happened to Troy's mother too?

  5. Kane - Finally, the older step brother to Tori, I am glad to see that he gets with Michelle. But I do want to know how he knowing now that he cannot fulfill that promise to Tori's mother. How will the brother and sister dynamic go now with Kane knowing that this isn't really his former sister that he's known for years. I would think there's an olive branch and acknowledging that this is who Tori is now and release himself from the demon that he holds within. Nevertheless, maybe Kane can redeem himself by rescuing Tori for real in the future as well, even if it's not through direct combat.

Overall, I really like the story/premise and would love to see the author return someday to this.
