im loving this manga so much but i hate that the mangaka felt the need for this trope, its one of the tropes i dislike the most. hoepfully we get some good development for this to make it worth it

People are annoyed not because he's being spineless, but because literally every romcom manga has this scenario at some point and they're sick of it. It's lazy writing.

I do agree that these tropes are very repetitive in romcoms, but i lowkey fw it. I usually view these kind of romcoms as my refreshment from the mainstream ones cuz i can get bored with those. Though I also hope that the author could change up the vibes like adding character development, or new characters with their own personalities. So far, its a 7/10 manga, still got hopes

basically he’s feeling that him associating with her will end up being a burden to her. It’s the classic romcom trope of the MC jumping to a conclusion on their own and thinking that the right course of action is to avoid the love interest, leading to manufactured drama. You’re not alone, this trope is really annoying

I feel like this trope would work more or be seen as less annoying if the manga were more realistic or if one of the MCs had some sort of traumatic backstory that makes them think they're worthless. But hey, that's just my opinion

I know this isn’t this kind of protag, but it would have been soooo much better if he had thrown them a Haimiya-style murder-glare while asking them something along the lines of “If you’ve got something to say about Senpai, how about you tell it to her face?!”

I suppose I'm too old to understand what he's feeling because this chapter just annoyed me.

This trope is so goddamn stupid, thank god it only took about 1 chapter to resolve itself. Maybe it was to show that Haimiya doesn't take kindly to such bullshit.
