You know, I'm not against the story of this manga.

Sure it's pretty much a copy of Eminence in Shadows with some differences.

Cid Kagenou: kept the play.
Zero: is keeping the play against his will.

Cid Kagenou: Uses the edgy pseudonym Shadow. Very bland, but when you look at media, there are not many famous ones using it. He is usually referred as Shadow by both enemies and allies, unless it's very specific situations related to his normal life.
Zero: His enemies call him "Agent", his allies call him Zero, his own name. Zero is also an edgy name, but we have many cool characters already named Zero, such as Code Geass' Zero and Megaman X' Zero (just easy ones to think of), that this Zero has little chance of surpassing.

Cid Kagenou: He forms a secret society and trains people afflicted to a mysterious disease (and they are always girls, because plot points).
Zero: He forms a secret society of people he saved (and they can be girls, boys, pretty ladies, old men)

Cid Kagenou: He is completely unaware of the size of the organization, and seems to believe all the girls working under the 7 Shadows are merely "hired" edgy normal girls joining the "play", and not that they are super assassins doing shadowy stuff. Later, although he does fight against some of them as John Doe, it's likely he just treats them as "after making a ton of money by replicating what I suggested, such as food and bank stuff, now they are investing in security".
Zero: Seems too be fully aware of the size of the organization, although my guess here is that he may not be fully aware of the details and the other members have uncovered as he decided to stop "playing edgelord"

Cid Kagenou: Whenever the plot is progressing, Cid gets involved in a completely different way from the rest of the group. He creates his own role essentially and surprises everyone.
Zero: Too early to guess here, but by this chapter, seems like a few things may be a bit forced. If the Agent appears, what's the excuse on why Zero disappeared? Is he going to kill all victims?

Cid Kagenou: He has an older sister who is a super brocon, although on the few cases we saw, she didn't seem to have much of an opinion on shadow.
Zero: He has a younger sister who hates his guts (and an unknown older sister), but falls in love with his secret identity.

My problem is, the source of their power.

Cid has been shown to not necessarily be the character with the most amount of magic, even he knows Alpha wins against him in that department, his ability comes from all his former life knowledge (martial arts and all the shit), and his extreme efficiency in using magic, hence although he may not have the most amount of Mana, Cid has the highest efficiency and highest output by far thanks to his ingenuity in training in this new world.

But here Zero is just shown as super strong out of nowhere, no secret, no training, just "I came to isekai, so of course I'm super strong right?". One could argue "Maybe he got the cheat from the goddess?"
But then the next chapter, said Goddess appears herself, and she doesn't know Zero's origins as an isekaijin.

I do also like that Zero is a bit more perverted than Cid, such as his imagination with the super busty farmer girl. Cid being dense is fitting sometimes, but othertimes the plot relies too much on girls feeling jealous or trying to appear to him just for him to never pay any attention.
