stuff like scented bodywash/shampoo, or lotion/perfume; maybe laundry detergent or fabric softener. All stuff that can have scents, and Kano seems like the sort of person who'd hang off MC and be physically close to him often enough that she'd be familiar with whatever scented products are a part of his home life.

If Suzuno had hand cream on or uses fragrant shampoo or skincare stuff or something, I could see a case where that scent transfers when he caught her from falling in the infirmary and "stuck" to him in some minor way until Kano got a whiff of it.
It's not outside of the realm of possibility, and there are people with "super smellers (hyperosmia is the term)" or whatever who are sensitive to and great at pinpointing all manner of scents and smells and whatnot IRL.

Kano being yandere and hyper-fixated on MC, I think could be justification that she'd be tuned in to what he normally smells like, and would catch any deviation in that.
