Looks like a lot of her behavior went over you guy's head ... if you read between the lines yes she's lesbian and she really wanted to spend more time with MC (the "joke" at the end). Also it's pretty clear she has either Savant or Autistic syndrome.

Guys just because someone is a lesbian that doesnt mean they have to have erotic moments with their female friends that are not, her entire character is being a big helper and someone to give a hand to help you out when you are in trouble without the need to be romantic, I mean she also helped the male writer and he took that advise with thanks.
Her entire character is not being a fetish character its being a person that helps people when they relate with them, yes maybe she had a crush with the MC and jokes around but again she will not force herself to the MC or try to build up something respecting boundaries.
