On the surface, the premise feels distasteful. He's acting like a cad because he's a mangawimp who can't be honest with his feelings. And she's acting like she has given up on herself. The relationship is based on a miscommunication and it feels like a poor foundation. She believes she sold herself into sex slavery, for goodness sake.
And then the premise is that all the toxic surface stuff does have a sweet, creamy interior. He actually loves her, and is helping her with her debts. And she gets to be with the best possible sex trafficker she could find.
It's just... I dunno if we're supposed to find it funny or dark. We'll see how it develops, I guess.
