sure her backstory stalled the fight but it was a very much needed backstory as now we know why she is out here and the connection to what she said about her uncle in chapter 3. Although I feel her uncle's motive is not pure. Her secretly taking a very special egg equivalent to a treasure from her family will definitely cause some sort of problem.

This is all an advertisement for the light novel so trying to get you hooked on her back story is vital for trying to convince you to buy the light novel.

I've noticed that the MC has a tendency to make a lot more in a vial of potion than is necessary for a use, and to spend too much time and effort on making the bottle pretty. Consider how much of that magic strengthening potion Mia spit out, but still had plenty left to make it work. No wonder he was stuck at the bottom in his last job, being so wasteful and inefficient like that.
