You probably don't even get why he's second-guessing everything. He's a Kanto kid. Understanding Kyoto dialect double-speak isn't easy, especially when the girl actually says what she really wants. She said she likes him, but to him, in Kyoto dialect, that just means he's annoying. That's why the misunderstanding works here. At least learn some basic Japanese culture.

I want to enjoy this, and I get that the premise is misunderstanding regional dialect, but man... Sorata is tiring.

The premise has been done too many times in web novels that I have read and the main character is painfully mediocre with the same struggle of the main girl being too perfect. The only thing I like is the main heroine design is cute and her personality is nice. That's it.

Series is so goated, the FMC has one of my favorite designs i've seen in a bit and the MC is the basic "ahh im useless but i try my best and do and say chad like things" which is in my top 5 favorite character types (ONLY if they're done well tho, like Ayase from Mikadono sisters)

So this work just CAN'T translate over well to a Western audience
