What's annoying is that I liked this manga even after ch 8.1. my issue is that now I know how it ends due to spoilers in the comments (my mistake for reading them tbh) and it ends bad and the novel keeps up the disturbing things. My other main issue is that there not much actually explicit scenes. Also am I supposed to feel bad for all the mcs offspring dying after knowing them for less than a chapter and still having tons around? I don't feel bad at all tbh.

The aesthetic and initial tone were light, but it descended into grimdark and rape real quick. It's gross and frankly a bit juvenile.

so in 8.5 side story we learn muscle girl's captain

seems to like her the most but sleeps with all the girls in the party but her. He finds her the most cute and hopes she will return soon. Now she has been taken.

Just wow xD the logic.

I am just glad she was not delusional about him liking her, I was sure he was just stringing her along. Still not cool how he sleeps around on the one he likes even if it is for work.

This is a manga that takes tropes that other manga half-ass and wimp out on, but this manga actually delivers on them!

None of that bland MC being an indecisive cuck with no sex drive, none of those moments with scary buildup but everything turns out to be okay because the author is afraid of loss.

In a sea of babified coddling manga with common mistakes and overused tropes, this is one of the few that manages to fix those common issues, to actually delve into adult and dark themes to create an engaging story, whereas the norm is typically to just allude to dark themes to create a false sense of pressure that you know will be meaningless in a chapter or two anyways.

Well, I really enjoyed the manga so far, so much so that I went looking for the novel and read it all in one day and created this account to leave my general comment. Others have already talked a lot about the story, so I'll talk about Mimi and I'll give a big spoiler, so pay attention!

Spoiler:

In fact, Mimi is the protagonist's former friend, reincarnated as a monster to protect him and also the cause of his suicide.

What happened was that despite being childhood friends, they followed different paths in adolescence and went to different schools, where she got a boyfriend and he, for some reason, didn't know about it (it could be for various reasons), and he ended up catching them in the act, and because of that, he killed himself.

But even after her death, she continued her life and had children and died of old age. However, in death, she regretted not being able to help her good friend whom she loved (like a brother or with slight romantic feelings), so she was given the offer to be reborn and protect him.

Even though she gave indications that she was different from the others and that she still loved him (I don't know how much), she didn't get sexually involved with him but continued to protect him, as he had done for her in the past, even hearing him with other women every night.

Well, she's simply an example of how life can be chaotic even when you do everything right.
