Huh; at first, I thought this was almost identical to the first chapter, right down to the dialogue, but as soon as Sato got home, all that went out the window.
Shio is much more mature in this version, acting more like a miniature housewife than a child of...what, six? That said, I think I like the serialized version of Shio better. The fact that she's so childlike makes Sato's obsession with her a lot creepier.

....I think I prefer this, in a way... Not going to lie.
The ending is a lot happier, Shio seems to be a little older which is always welcome, and Satou only had to kill a single person who, honestly had no reason to survive in the serialized version.
Huh.... That was such a neat read. Also Shoko is a lot more crude here, hoooly.
