Yep.Honestly you can be mad at the trope but the only reason she's not going to get married is plot armor. MC is a servant I really don't think people understand this , like it was laid out what would happened a couple of chapters ago and people are still pissed at him. Like if this wasn't a manga where things will work out , he would be the only logical one. He's a commoner and he has no way to get to her level so that they can be together. It's really that simple
Didn't he basically explain all of that in chapter 9? Besides I guess explicitly saying I like you , he told her straight up what was the most likely scenario if they tried anything like running away or tried to be together as they are. Like he gave her all of the realistic scenarios and then she basically ghosted him until her fiance came. Like He said it to himself at the end of that conversation but the simple fact is he was born a commoner and wasn't born a noble.Yep.
It's super fucking dumb, and I personally think Gray is spineless because he knows how she feels about him, that he should at least tell her his personal thoughts in private, at the bare minimum, and explain their situation.
But he's technically correct that their stations prohibit any relationship between them.
That said, Gray absolutely should have said "no I do not want you two to marry, but I can't do anything about it as I am, we need time and would need an actual plan", so that the two of them along with the staff could maybe figure something out.
What he did do, though? Absolute bullshit, and it's spitting in her face. I will condemn him for that.
There's clearly a huge wall in front of them getting together, but they need to be united in figuring something out. Him just burying his feelings along with any hint of a backbone like this is ridiculous and makes me want to root against him, because he shows that he considers things like "station" more important than at least acknowledging her feelings.
I went back to reread from chapter 10; I guess I was off by one.Didn't he basically explain all of that in chapter 9? Besides I guess explicitly saying I like you , he told her straight up what was the most likely scenario if they tried anything like running away or tried to be together as they are. Like he gave her all of the realistic scenarios and then she basically ghosted him until her fiance came. Like He said it to himself at the end of that conversation but the simple fact is he was born a commoner and wasn't born a noble.
It would actually be a change if he was being genuine lolThe most common trope here would be that Grant is lying and only cares about her status and wealth.
