Akane's problem's been hanging in the background with no real consequence for a while now so I guess it's a good time as any to resolve it. Given that this is still part of the montage that didn't even address Akane-Yaeka on the first 2 scenes, I wonder if this'll end up touching on the Botan-Ibuki and Jinran-Kanade status quo as well.

Yes, 'cause we actually pay attention and don't mindlessly read through each release. I swear half the comments on any given manga are a bunch of people with Alzheimer's.

The manga is very much structured like the storyboard for a arthouse film that wistfully drifts through the lives of dorm roommates and their relationships like a drunken haze. If you're not paying attention you'll quickly lose track of the narrative, especially since it demands you connect the chapters through the context clues provided in the casual naturalistic dialogue and floaty monologue narrations.

This is a manga with chapters the length of a weekly series released monthly at best and a significant proportion of the dialogue and visuals are not dedicated to plot beats or points of characterization. I enjoy it well enough that I'm planning to start the anime once I've finished with last season's fare, but those things make it very easy to forget the specifics of the story without a refresher if you're also keeping up with a lot of other series at the same time.
