Poor kid. If they don't want to be a saint, just let them refuse. It's not like the kingdom hasn't functioned to this point without a saint so far.

That... actually makes a fair point.
Sadly this is a world where the prince is only as smart as starter pokemon.

What are the chances that the saint is also a male-turned-female isekai'er? The fact that she's described as a tomboy suggests that it might be possible, but at the same time it's not like the personalities that girls can have is restricted like that such that "tomboy" can only mean "boy." Plus, in that last page, she seems to be alone, and yet she says "village" rather than, like, "city" or "town" or something.

Thing is it's less about what she can do for the country and more about how the church can use her.

Regardless of how real her powers are having a saint who's known to have performed at least one miracle is useful for increasing the church's popularity and influence. And potentially a threat if not integrated into the church.

Also, in this country a saint is apparently equal in status to a high noble. Which could potentially translate to a ton of benefits, but a saint who was a peasant two days ago doesn't have enough foundation (property, political connections, powerful family members, etc.) to reap those benefits and protect themselves. Huge opportunity for the church to step in and provide protection in exchange for most/all of the benefits.

Overall the church isn't gonna let go of a mascot like that.
