It's just a goofy, cute push/pull dynamic where Katou who has been uninterested in relationships and real men is trying to win over Yui by being erotic. While Yui as a teenager in the midst of puberty is trying to win her over by being non-erotic.

Im fully prepared for all the cliches and the slow burn, I just hope the author doesn't drag it on too long tho.

In fairness to the TL they did an okay job of taking a joke that relies on the japanese language's infamous refusal to be specific about anything and kinda make the misunderstanding work in english.

I like how the shit with them going in circles in their heads is exaggerated but still relatable, and sometimes even a verbatim thought a lot of us have had.

Weirdly, I came away surprised that they actually exchanged IDs because it felt like HOLY SHIT SLOW DOWN levels of progress for a misunderstanding-based romcom with two introspective leads.

Especially when it comes to dating advice.

Jokes aside, the dating advice was spot on (for japan.) He's just too inexperienced to understand that the groundwork required has already been laid and he's already won her over.

I kinda like that the humor in the series draws a lot on the growing pains that come with taking the teens' required "fake it 'til you make it" approach to being a decent person.

Tbh, not sure about this one. Can be good but part of me doubt it. Mainly because it feels like it will be a LONG way before they start dating and then do anything because they would think they are misunderstanding. Personly think this story will get tiring after a couple of chapters.

I find it amusing that there are people on both sides of the post - “where progress?” VS “holy shit this much progress?”
This is progress, but ultimately it’s the culmination of the joke. It’s a good one too - the buildup of the misunderstanding is consistent & outlandish, & the punch line is timed to hit right when you start to wonder how much further they can go.
I think also there may be a misunderstanding - this isn’t just a Romance Story, it’s a RomCom. Which still has Romance, but it’s also a comedy. If these two get together on Issue 100 it’s not going to be the result of 99 chapters of slow burn yearning, it’s gonna be the culmination of 100 or more jokes that push them together bit by bit.
