Like, obviously his parents are the worst, but even his aunt and grandpa are like this. No wonder the guy has so many issues.

Imo he doesn't even have ANY problems worth mentioning with his personality if this was his domestic environment. Every single person in his immediate surrounding is a sociopath including the grandpa but this is romcom slop at the end of the day so i don't expect any proper exploration of the themes presented here.

Also parents are so comically bad that i genuinely think author included them to direct people's hate from Akane to them instead considering she is the worst character in the story (or any other romcom slop for that matter) by a long shot.

With a lot of imagination I can understand the jealousy of his father, being inferior to his young son and being passed over as heir. But what is the point of his mother openly disdaining him? Even as a shitty mom who neglected her son, you would expect the average golddigger to suck up to the designated heir to secure her own privileged lifestyle. I mean it shouldn't really matter to her if it is her husband or her son who is sustaining her. Besides if everything is handled by servants anyway, why was his upbringing still so shitty?

Well, all adults in this series suck, but MC's parents suck to an almost unimaginable degree.

Sounds like she thought the father would get the money for to long, and ruined her chance with her son before learning he was he heir. So now she thinks her only shot is to run him out of the family, or even to try with the father to steal the money or take control of the family by force.
And to be fair, she is right, her son knows what she is, and will never forgive her.
