I really hope this doesnt go like it does in the LN

Masato says "erm you're scaring me" and she storms out.

And then we get 5 chapters of this until they make up and the next interesting thing happens

Dude you peaked my interest know where I can read the LN?? Or if you can shoot a link my direction. I’d really appreciate it.

An actual adult female is showing interest in him, what is this mc's problem? It's pretty scummy of him to have led her on all this time at this clearly exploitative job. She'd probably have no problem paying for his college directly either.

Seriously did not expect this thread to turn out out like this.

All right, for starters, there is no goddamned tracker. Seira is a little yan right now, but believe me, her feelings are genuine. This little yan spike is going to hurt, but also lead to great character development. Of the five girls, she is the most admirable for how hard she tries.

Second, yes, he's naive. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. There are people as naive as he is in our world. Other men as naive as him exist in the 1:5 world, too, born there, raised there, and still believing in the fundamental kindness of women. They end up far more traumatized than Masato when their naivete is shattered. Just because we as readers have omniscient third person perspective does not mean a character acting on his own conclusions is a moron. Naivete is not a crime. Nor is his complacency in being lulled into thinking he would be fine when the world was so similar to his own. He's a genuinely nice man who lacks malice.

Third, there is no reason for there to be more lesbians in this world as a percentage of population than our world. The ratio between the sexes changed, but everything else is consistent with our world to the point Masato is seen as a nice, naive lad. Since study after study has shown that LGT is around 3.5% of the total population in our world, we can estimate it to be lower in this one since there are fewer men. That also means that 1 out of 100 men are gay, which means the 1:5 world is even worse for them than it is for women.

Fourth, polygamy is not accepted legally, but women are pushing for it. We see men in this manga with multiple women, so there are women who will accept an illegally polygamous relationship just to get access to a man. We also see that many of those men are douchebags. Genuinely nice lads like Masato are rare enough to qualified as endangered species protection.

The manga is doing a good job of adapting the light novel, so I recommend folks go read it. Especially since the illustration for this scene at the end of volume 2 is so much better there.

So glad someone pointed out the absurdity in this thread. Yes he's naive, yes he's dumb for ignoring the caution signs. But at the same time, he genuinely is just being a nice guy, the girls taking it deeper than that is their own doing at the end of day, my guy is just vibing and living his life.

"He's leading them on!"

Is he? Outside of hosting, he's been pretty chill for the most part. Even with hosting, it still feels dumb to me to say that. It's like saying a stripper "lead you on", homie that's their job, you know this. If you spend money on a stripper in the idea that they love you and are meant solely for you alone, you're kind of an idiot and a loser tbh...

To be fair, he is shown to be leading them on in the normal world, too. Not maliciously, but when he got into a relationship, the girl just realized that he just... is like that to everyone, regardless of gender. That is where you can say he's a bit of a idiot when it comes to affection, to the point where HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND IN THE NORMAL WORLD realized she wasn't any special to him.

Would be funny if this would change into some psychological torture/horror story. MC realised how much he fucked coming to this new world with his already kinda broken ideas/behaviours from out world. But he also properly realised that its to late now, cause he already "poked 5 bears", and now they will take turns eating him - plus fight between themselves.

Ignoring few mangas like the 1:99 one or the 1:1000 one, there is basically 3 mangas that somehow make a coherent "evolution" continuation of sorts.

You have this 1:5 one, where shit starts going south, with only 1 dude for 5 girls. Poly is being worked in with slow changes in law. Girls problems with finding a dude got 5 times worse than in our world, while dudes have it far easier, cause even "uggos" will get someone cause of women desperation of sorts. But it emboldens the assholes, who realised how good they have it, how they can pick and choose cause girls desperate, and stuff. MC is annoying cause he was a "nice guy" in original world and fucked up his relationships because of that - and didn't learn, didn't connect the dots that behaving like that in a 1:5 world will be 5^2 times worse.

Then there is the 1:20 world (manga doesn't have the ratio in the title). Things changed a bit, ratio got bad enough that women started to be "bad", men started to have issues. New "type" of people/work was invented - the men guards. Basically teams of people whose sole purpose is to protect the men from to aggressive women. Part reading that manga is a chore - dude is brain dead. Women with double-H tits in his face, but short hair and he thought she is a guy. He thought men guards meant its dudes guarding, etc. Half the characters that we see easily as female, dude thinks are guys. Not sure if its just artistic way, or is the MC really that stupid.

Then there is the 1:39. New "type" evolved to full blown schools teaching hundreds of women to be men guardians. Men are forced by law to sperm donor. Women can become moms via artificial insemination, and it seems they get preferential treatment is they birth a boy. Stuff is so bad, it seems nobody cares for incest - with how much his own family wants to breed with MC. MC himself seems to actually have a brain, like he just troves there cause being nice to girls and not scared of them, brain fucks them enough that he basically slowly makes a harem out of any girl he encounters. And if the R18 version was to be added into consideration, he also fucks them all. Overall its so over-the-top and funny that out of the 3 its the most fun to read.
The consistency of each element and the fact that they all take place in Japan, it really does feel like each of these manga could take place in the same universe with an ever-worsening decline in gender (probably the reason why people are getting isekai'd into the world). The only problem is that they all take place in the "present", so either things got bad QUICK, or technology stalled for years.

And speaking of MC, I don't know why each one gives me a different feeling in annoyance, despite all filling the same role and personality? All are equally vapid, with nothing going for each of them outside of being a nice guy that makes women fall for them. 1:39 gets away with it, because that's the comedy. But I think these two guys read as more annoying, because they're trying to be serious? There's more annoyance in using these tropes and trying to be serious and failing, than outright admitting it's ridiculous story convention and leaning into it.

Imagine someone like the one and only, legendarily handsome and amazing, Yamabuki in these scenarios? My god the dynamics.
