so a complete arc about everyone trying to abuse MC..
i know they likely attempt to force MC to finally grow some spine and make choices himself, instead of escaping or choosing the easiest way out, but this isn't exactly fun to read long-term.
I think the difficult thing is that Lloyd is being allowed to maintain the delusion that he's worthless and not strong at all.
No one is calling him on it or pointing out the differences in power when he's buffing them, and he's just allowed to rationalize it to himself via the ingrained abuse he suffered at the hands of that Hero. Even Merlin is guilty, refusing to disclose his actual potential, and whatever her reasons given (if I remember correctly, it was to "protect him"), it's clearly not working because he has more people after him than ever.
The knots that the setting has to tie itself into will get increasingly absurd the longer Lloyd's delusion is allowed to persist, which is a recurring problem with this story trope across genres. The more people who interact and just ....not say anything or press the issue, the harder it becomes to continue suspending disbelief over the premise making sense.
At some point he has to be allowed to learn the truth. He's supremely lucky that every person he's met has been benevolent in not wanting to fully exploit his abilities (at least those who have managed to approach and talk to him), and while he's not an idiot who would follow just anyone, it's only a matter of time before his adamant insistence in his own ineptitude will lead to actual problems and real danger.
