I get the impression that was a bit of "early installment weirdness" as the writer tried different things out with the characterization before everything gelled into the current direction... seems like all the different characters were in assorted, incompatible yuri school-girl and slice-of-life anime cliches all mashed together, and Chitose's early characterization gimmick was a sort of S&M thing (she seemed to enjoy being slapped by Ayano!), before evolving into fantasizing about her crush "playing" with someone else.

And that's probably for the best - not sure how long they could have carried on the S&M gimmick, while the "bountiful harvest" fantasy sequence running gag is pretty funny, especially in conjunction with Chizaru's twincest counterpart fantasy gag, where she enjoys fantasizing about her sister playing with Ayano!

Come to think of it, it's been a while since we've seen a Chitose fantasy sequence, too!

And I guess that Chizaru basically stole Akari's sister's sister-love gimmick, which I guess is true to Akari's running gag of being pushed out of all the spotlights by all the other characters. (It's also been a while since we've seen Akari's sister, hasn't it? And speaking of that, wasn't there an early chapter where we see one of the girls' sisters had a crush on Akari's sister, but kept missing the plane on getting a date with her? EDIT: It was Chinatsu's sister that had a crush on Akari's sister....)
