I feel like there's a lot going on now, between the time loops, new characters, the addition of a second Great One into the mix, and it's making things feel really fast. There's little time to digest one revelation when a new one appears. The only important thing that's standing out is finding out there's a medicine that can keep one's memories, which will likely be incredibly important for when they decide to show the "golden" loop.

Oop. Well, that newspaper article certainly knew one sure way to keep the MCs alive: get them a homicidal people pleaser who can instantly detect deception! And Andou got a mansion out of the deal! No downsides… right? RIGHT?!?

That escalated quickly.

Having more false gods confirms to me that everything since the timeloop's introduction is a soft reboot of the setting after some heavy change in direction for the story for whatever reason.

The series needed to pivot to more action partway into Volume 3 in order to stay alive.

Stabby being able to tell when someone is lying is pretty useful for solving mysteries. I wonder if false god #2 wanted to keep an eye on her because of that? Why else would he be pretending to be a psychologist?

Here's my theory for that:

He seems to enjoy stories and watching them unfold in real time is now (always was?) his hobby. Maybe he uses therapy as a way to hear the story of the townspeople directly and also so he can guide them with "good" advice (manipulate them) to keep things entertaining. Furthermore, this is heavily inspired by folklore. Something that is spoken, not written. When you go to therapy, you tell your story to the therapist with words via mouth. False god #2 could be imitating the person from 1910 (or just be a fan of them/like the genre) who wrote 'Tono Monogatari.' He's creating his own folklore entertainment with his demon-packed hellhole and then listening to the story in the most authentic way, via the words coming from the townspeople's mouths. From here, it sure looks like he's a psycho 0_0

Stabby has zero hesitation in killing 2 people in rapid succession if the person she is fixated on needs help. In that moment, she doesn't even think about sakura's feelings about killing. Does having that kind of mental state help her be a lie detector or is it unrelated?

Last little thought. Therapists take notes during sessions. The same way an author would write down what they're hearing from an expert in folklore when compiling stories of it.

Is he compiling his own version of 'Tono Monogatari,' using the town and specters for material? Is that his true endgame... :aquadrink:

Person pretending to be crazy meets an actual crazy person. Disaster ensues.
