Was it Kuribayashi's father in the JMSDF? Or was it Kuro, the tall intimidating lesbian medic of Itami's team? I think it was mentioned around when Itami was almost Alien face-hugged. I'm gonna miss Itami and his crew, I heard this series/season will only focus on this other guy?

Can anyone give an update if the author for Gate has finished this arc in the novel and switched back with Itami?

Both Itami and Rory make appearances in the light novel, though I don't know if they are brief.

Bit late for this reply but Kurokawa's father is the one in JMSDF, in fact he's the captain of the (second) submarine in this chapter.

"Season 2" has 5 novel volumes and appears to have concluded. The first 4 volumes centers around our new protagonists Edajima and Tokushima (as well as a whole host of new characters from the special region). Various characters from "Season 1" makes cameos in these volumes. The 5th volume brings back Itami for at least a supporting role (I'm still reading it), he does more than just show up in a couple scenes but Edajima and Tokushima are still the main characters.

Hmmmm Cammie came xD…and she has another meaning as compared to Tokushima. Cammie can be eaten in many ways thanks to the double meaning, sautee, deep fried, boiled, baked, in bed, on a beach or a pool.
