Good observations. Though I'm not entirely sure about the right eye theory. Could've also been him noticing he can see more astral stuff with his left eye. Ok, here's my theory: Maybe he can now see astral stuff with his right eye (due it being closed) and living stuff with his left one, like usual.So there were a few things I found interesting this chapter. Particularly this sequence:
I noticed that he was looking at his right hand and the panel seems to be drawn from the perspective of his right eye, his closed eye. The following panel shows his face obscured in shadow but his left eye is open.
This might be me reading too much into it but I went back a few chapters and it was mentioned that this chamber is in absolute darkness and silence.
In fact we even see him stumble and fall into the pool and we are given the above panel symbolizing his physical and emotional isolation. In retrospect, even entering the chamber is a clear analogy for death - it's a tomb and the characters call it as such.
But what I find interesting is that after the realization that he's half-astral he is able to see his hand and the "aura" around it - for lack of a better word. Is it possible that the parts of him that are "dead" are now able to interact and perceive the astral world? What then about his missing hand?
Once I started going with that theory this panel seemed more than accidental to me. Notice how the light is coming precisely from where his missing arm should be. Coincidence? I think not!
No, but really, it might just be a coincidence since the framing looks nice. But I'd be interested in how this crackpot theory holds up. At the very least I'm comfortable saying that something about the "power up" made Guts able to see beyond the physical world hence why he's able to see in absolute darkness. It would also be a perfect solution for his eventual fight against Griffith who has a physical body but is a creature who exists beyond the physical realm.

Yeah I kinda glossed over that panel with him seeing with his poked out eye. This simple miss clears up the chapter and ties with the prior one. Guts being an entity of both the living world and the dead/spirit side, is now fully aware of both and, is seeing with his dead eye things that are invisible to his normal one. Won't be shocked if he can at some point grab onto apostles with his missing hand and choke them out or hit them. also, back then we know that Guts astral body(? or ethereal) is damaged, probably from the overexertion from using the armor. The reborn anew in this chapter probably repair that damage too. Yeah but that could be chalked up to hyperbole, there have been stronger people than Guts it's always been that he has strength, battle intelligence and a level of insanity that let's him pull off things that other people would even think to.
If we end up going down the route of "the lady of the lake made him a demigod by having a chat" then that's a bit different.
I don't think that is happening here, but it would be weird for him to be unchanged by everything, which includes a magical armor that almost literally possesed him and was owned by skull knight before. And his sword was also considered turning magical due to all the monster he had been fighting with it, as mentioned by Schierke all the way back at her masters hut before the Troll fight.
But let's face it, if he wants to fight Femto, then he needs some kind of buff, in his previous state he wouldn't even make it through the rows of Apostles (and humans) around that guy.
