The story by itself isn't that good. It's real value comes from being the precursor to the official doujin and epilogue stories, which also don't have the best writing but combined they're very serviceable as erotica.

Can tell, like how he has to "turn the 7 sins/flowers/whatever" into "proper brides", but he already technically failed that, since the 1st failure is/was one of the 7.

Perhaps it's due to the quality of the translation, which is obviously mtl but they didn't even bother to fix or hide the translation errors.

I didn't see anyone complaining about it the story was lost on me anyway. Uploading them just to delete it in the same week is such a Waste

I never did understand this ngl. I've read the doujin but it doesn't really fit in anywhere. It feels more like an if route. Unless I'm misunderstanding and "official" just means made by the author and not "official" as in canon to the story.

Then there's all the nightbound chapter extras on the author pixiv which I think all aren't canon the author reiterates?

Then the fmc here appears in the sequel series as well completely memory wiped, is the official doujin between these series? An if route? Anyone that knows the series know about this?

Edit: after researching further it seems by official it meant as in made by the author, the doujin is an official bad end route in this case. The canon route is the sequel manga(and ig the pixiv is all unrelated)

The doujin is a bad end, the "Goddess Defeat" series is a sequel in like an alternate universe. All the author confirmed from there is that the MC is the same person in both stories. The pixiv fanbox stuff is canon to the series, however. Specifically, the series has been continued as a web novelization of sorts (with images), which is available on his various support sites. The stuff on pixiv is just preview images for them.

Yea the first part makes sense but the pixiv stuff doesn't. I've read the "nightbound extra" series on pixiv and translate it with MTL as they have different multiple different endings that don't really work together. Like a character will end up as a limbless y'know but be fine in the next extra chapter (not including the other random non "extra" artworks) and it's not mentioned at least by the MTL translation.

It feels more like multiple its if routes or more like "extra" routes but I don't think they're canon for the sequel or original series. The author also mentions in their comments repeatedly that these series don't affect the pullea or muse mask of the actual manga (though supposedly its because of their strict editor/publisher rules). So idk. I don't think anything besides the main two series are the canon timeline

To summarize the relationship between the different works:

Night Bound Aubade (Yoshibari Aubade)
This is the original manga.

Shibarimake Finale
This is an R-18 dōjin created by the author himself. It features an alternate, bad-end ending and is therefore not part of the canonical conclusion.

Night Bound Extra (Yoshibari Extra)
This is the canonical sequel to the manga. It is published as a web novel on the author's fan sites.

Goddess Defeat (Megami Haiboku)
This takes place in a different universe and tells an independent story. However, Yua also appears as a secondary character in her adult form as the goddess Venus.

For now, the exact relationship between Yoshibari Aubade and Goddess Defeat, as well as the reason for Yua's appearance in both universes, is unknown.

------

In addition to this, the author sometimes creates non-canonical R-18 mini-stories for both works, such as alternate universes or IF scenarios. Although some of them may become canon depending on whether the author mentions it, this is mostly because he cannot portray R-18 scenes in the manga.

Well, the limbless stuff is just the same thing they did in the manga from what I've read. It's just temporary magic.

Yea I know most of that but the main confusing thing was how Yua was banged in the canon webnovel but still be a goddess in the manga sequel. Since goddesses can't become or be a goddess if they're "defeated" (loss of first time virginity) then it didn't make sense for Yua/muse mask to be banged in the web novel yet still a goddess in the sequel. Also the author isn't allowed to depict the main heroines first time in canon works he says which didn't make sense based on the images.

...So I translated all of the web novel again with MTL lol.

Basically Yua is and isn't technically banged for her first time, she has in the authors words "virgin sex" in ch 5 of the "extra" series. Yua uses her friend's "V" that was donated/transplanted on Yua body and has her actual "V" separated, kept in a box that the mc keeps with him. So the female villain bangs Yua friend's "V" that is on Yua body not Yua's original "V". Then later when Yua gets her original "V"/body back after mc rescues her, the sequel can be canon since she is still technically a virgin letting her become and stay as a goddess in it.

Theirs also stuff with Yua clones and Yua mannequins that let him draw Yua sex scenes in the "extra" chapters yet also still being technically not her (author mentions being afraid of drawing canon male ntr with Yua a lot for some reason so he avoided this by having Yua first time with a "female" enemy in ch 5. He avoids the ntr aspect by saying it's her friends pleasure that Yua is feeling on her body not technically Yua first time pleasure, somehow even Yua's eggs are replaced with her friends eggs and all Yua eggs(and womb/hymen??) are still in the box with her V that mc holding onto, so Yua entire lower body is basically replaced here thus in author eyes it's not ntr since none of Yua is being physically penetrated and if she did get preg it'd be her friends womb/eggs being pregnated; as author says "her heart and mind virginity is being taken" not her body's. Like a virginity of theseus concept lmao).
These were the main thing confusing me going mostly off images.

This all sounds so stupid and overcomplicated though😭. It's reaching "ero ninja scrolls" levels of virginity defense at this point lol. The author should have just made it non canon and he'd have no restrictions or hundreds of weird technicalities that he'd hafta make and instead could draw what he wants (author also mentioned recently that if the "extra" series is declared as non canon by him, then the editor "ban" on sex scenes is lifted so he is considering making the entire yoshiba "extra" non canon lately because he wanted to draw more "fmc's insertion" scenes). I guess aubade didn't have a proper sequel yet and he felt the original ending was unsatisfying so that's why the author wanted web novel to be canon at first? Feels like a waste to make it all non canon after 10 extra chapters though if he does.

Idk, I'm glad it's all clarified now. My bad for all the yap. Hope the web novel officially translated someday. If anyone else completely confused I hope this clears it up for you like it did for me. Thank you guys for the help also!
