Apart from whether shinobu successful of failing on the penetration, both of them will become a couple in coming chapters.

If AK want to make a realistic relationship story, then shinobu and fumi connection must happen.

shinobu and sakura reconcilliation is no longer relevant. It's been months passed between the shinobu and sakura to make connection, nothing ever happen. He's probably blocked by her anyway.
All that left in shinobu is just regret, his longing love for sakura to return probably have died out.
He had been dumped and screwed over both personally and professionally by her.
Even if sakura realize the misunderstanding through nagi, and looking for shinobu, the discussion probably only going one way from sakura. shinobu maybe reply in maturity that it is no longer possible to repair the relationship, even if she propose to shinobu that she is willing to break up with her new boyfriend to mend the relationship.
He once loved and trusted her, but those in reality not mutual. Since he has decided to move on with fumi, her presence is no longer expected. This might break sakura more than shinobu.
Both regreted the situation, but it is more realistic to move on and not to linger onto past memories they had before.

I dont ship anyone over anyone, nor fumi's jugs over sakura's. But to be realistic this is the direction AK might choose over some bullshit reconciliation chapter.
