Now start the witch hunt and instead of burning, throw her into a goblin cave. Too much huh? Guess what, her crime is too much.

I don't think it was an affair; I think she forced the father. If it were an affair, I don't think Fuu would have taken it that far. Although there's still a possibility she doesn't know. I want to believe my theory of Yotsuha's mom rap1ng the father is what actually happened.

But let's see what happens, maybe it's someone else and they're just epically baiting us. Because honestly, I feel like something doesn't quite add up. It was so obvious it was Fuu, but it feels too easy to be true

You could always read the chapters in some asian language, but it seems the father found some form of unwind in the second chick

Yeah its logical, but in the same time also boring. I've seen this twist too many times (i dont dismiss the narrative tho this manga has good paced and engaged in the same way).

My tinker when the first time she introduced it always "It looks like her is the clover but there is no way right? Otherwise its very predictable". I tried to believe Futaba is not the clover, since the narrative and plot so far is rather good and have engaging twist too. But holy.... the biggest mystery twist we want to know were the most common and generic twist we can get ever.
What other options are there? The mother and brother were too "obvious." Everyone else was already set up to be the "bad guy" and there were no other characters introduced. The only way they could continue with this stuff is if someone we didn't know was clover... which is actually the most boring thing. Turns out the new character that we didn't know about was clover? Futaba being Clover is the most sensible answer. The author would have had to set up multiple people around them that were "good" to actually make an interesting reveal. So it's not like you can have better twist than this.

What twist would you prefer? What would've been a better twist? Genuine questions, because I just don't see any other options, let alone any other BETTER options.

I called it, Fuu-chan's name is Futaba / 双葉!! My number naming scheme theory was on the right track!

Notably however, we only know Fuu-chan/ふーちゃん by her nickname: her real name hasn't been revealed to us at all! In Japanese mysteries you have to pay attention to literary tricks like these meant to obfuscate clues. Like, even for the longest while our suspicious Rei-kun/零くん we knew his real name contains a literal 零/"zero".

Going with the naming scheme of this story however, the most intuitive guess is "Futaba"/ふたば for 双葉/"double/twin leaves/sprout". Especially because her hoodie has a twin-leaved sprout on it, and her pigtail ribbons are tied like twin-leaved sprouts too. (Plus, there really aren't many Japanese names with words meaning "two" that have a "fu" sound.)

And also, if my future Fuu-chan theory is correct, what happens when you overlay one Futaba/"double leaves" with another Futaba/"double leaves"? You literally have Yotsuba/"four leaves", also like a clover!

Admittedly her last name being Futatsugi / 二木 did throw me off the trail because I was thinking that characters in this story don't get the same number repeated as part of their scheme. But given that we already had Etou Eito (double eight) and Reidou Rei (double zero), I shouldn't have given up so easily.

So, Futatsugi Futaba / 二木 双葉, "two trees, twin leaves". Just like I said at the start of the year:
In Japanese mysteries you have to pay attention to literary tricks like these meant to obfuscate clues.

Like I said, the author hiding Fuu-chan's real name for so long in a story where everyone's names have numbers inserted into them had to have meant something. So similar to what I guessed, with two trees, "double leaves" plus "double leaves" equals "four leaves"!

Still, when I got to this point of the story months ago in the raw, I certainly didn't see the two girls being half-sisters coming. Even after noting that her father seemed quite involved in time travel research.

I didn't know what to think about Yotsuha's deduction here, Futaba's revenge against Yotsuha as payback for her father's suicide due to blackmail. Like, she's likely right that Professor Futatsugi ended his life due to the blackmail, but why take it out on Yotsuha? It's her crazy mum who probably tricked and messed with him into doing the deed so shouldn't you be throwing all your curses at her?

Yup, her mother would be better choice. While it obvious, it maintains the consistent narrative if her mother was the clover. Unlike Fuu, her mother seems like the ultimate evil based on what we know about her up until this chapter.

Making the twist never happened would be better than keeping me hanging around waiting for the ultimate twist.

But still i can see Fuu also somewhat being manipulated too by maybe her adoptive father or even Yotsuba mother. At that point, the decision point is directed toward Uichi being chad once again to save his girfriend.

the revenge by futaba is pretty much the only thing that moves her as her dad suicide pretty much destroyed her and probably also her family, which we will learn soon (probably). So she's far broken at this point, from what I remember she's living by herself in that special school, so loneliness doesn't help much in going schizo on their only childhood friends

So is your second theory true? Is the current Fuu-chan, the future Fuu-chan?

The note on Yotsuha when she was left at the orphanage was written by a child. Did Fuu-chan regret saving Yotsuha?

Did the scientist guy not know his daughter was best friends with his other daughter? If I was him I would have adopted and then that would have cut off her ability to claim her back cutting off the risk it would be exposed. Even better if you can convince someone else to do it but failing that do it yourself.
How would adopting her help? That would make it worse because it would show that she is actually his child. It's not about wanting Yotsuha; the mom didn't even actually want her. It's about Yotsuha being the proof that he is cheating, so who she is with doesn't matter. Don't forget that he also knew about Yotsuha being his child only after she had already adopted her, making it impossible for him to adopt her.

I dunno Uichis family was pretty fucked up even without her. She almost did him a favor by bringing out and letting them confront their behaviours.
No? His family only becomes bad after his sister gives up on doing anything, which is because of Clover's manipulation.

So is the mom/wife not an option? Is she dead too or something?
Whose mom do you mean? Yotsuha's? If it’s her, then yes, she is already dead. Yotsuha's brother told her when she was hospitalized. It's why Yotsuha and her brother can live calmly alone without her looming over them.

Calling it now, I bet fuu-chan tries to kill herself now just so she can hurt FMC and that's why she wanted to be FMC's best friend. As a double whammy of revenge of having MC and best friend die. She might try to get herself and mc killed too now in some sort of murder suicide.
