So is your second theory true? Is the current Fuu-chan, the future Fuu-chan?

The note on Yotsuha when she was left at the orphanage was written by a child. Did Fuu-chan regret saving Yotsuha?
Can't answer your first question ahead of time, don't want to spoil the mystery sorry

As for the second, I never pegged Fuu-chan as the one who left Yotsuha at the orphanage, especially since she would've also been just a baby then.

Fuu-shit should blame the scientist-dad, why not just take responsibility, so what reputation is damage, it is his own fault for doing ONS with someone. Just take yotsuha as his 2nd daughter.

Chapter 43. In the original timeline, it's Fuu-chan who reconnects with Yotsuha and tells her Uichi killed himself.

How would adopting her help? That would make it worse because it would show that she is actually his child. It's not about wanting Yotsuha; the mom didn't even actually want her. It's about Yotsuha being the proof that he is cheating, so who she is with doesn't matter. Don't forget that he also knew about Yotsuha being his child only after she had already adopted her, making it impossible for him to adopt her.
Either you didn't read the chapter or you didn't read my comment. If he adopts her it takes away the mother's ability to get her, at best she can give whatever organisation that facilitated the adoption her details to let the Yotsuha contact her but with modern data protection laws they wouldn't just give her Yotsuha's address. Also we don't know when he found out we just know about when the blackmail started.

Sorry, my bad. I will a put spoiler alert in my previous comment. I already read the raws, so my memory is mixed with what has already been translated and what hasn't.

But still, adopting her won't help at all, because her mom can still easily say that he had a kid outside of his legal wife. That's the issue. Yotsuha's whole existence is the proof that he cheated. She didn't even need to adopt her at all; she only did that to get her hair and picture.

Ngl I stopped caring about 80 twists ago, the story is so wacky now with how the author think more complexity means a more engaging plotline

That still sounds like a pretty stupid reason to take revenge on a girl who never even knew who her father was until now...

Guess that for all her genius, Fuu-chan is still just a kid !

Whatever the author chooses to craft is the story, regardless of my feelings about it. But even so, there's one element that just doesn't make sense to me.

Because personally? To me it makes no sense at all that "a child anywhere near their age at the time Uichi's torment-into-suicide first started, came up with something this twisted, intricate, able to predict the future, and *-opathic". It doesn't ring true with anything other than the "children are perfectly capable^ of being horrifically evil quasi-adults" nonsense Hollywood crapped out in the 70s.

^ - as a normal thing / common trope — vs requiring extreme, unspeakable circumstances

It's why I've been stuck on the notion that it has to be another time-traveler (bro, Mommy Dearest) for so long... unless it's a really demented adult. (But even then, the only idea that comes to mind is the strained "someone trying to get revenge on Mommy Dearest by hurting her daughter".)

Did the scientist guy not know his daughter was best friends with his other daughter? If I was him I would have adopted and then that would have cut off her ability to claim her back cutting off the risk it would be exposed. Even better if you can convince someone else to do it but failing that do it yourself.
most likely he didn't even know a child was born from their relationship
yotsuba's mom seemed to only tell him later and sent the proof of her existance

Yotsuha - four clovers (fmc)
Mitsuha - three clovers (older brother)
Futaba - two leaves (half sibling/possible mastermind)
Kazuha - one leaf? (according to google, i know not reliable) (mother apparently?)
Rei - zero (i believe)

are there any other names that have numbers in it?

I dunno Uichis family was pretty fucked up even without her. She almost did him a favor by bringing out and letting them confront their behaviours.
Not.... Really??

Like there was some dysfunction, sure. But the sister just didn't like doing schoolwork or being nagged about it, like any normal kid. Then Clover got in her head and convinced her to drop out of school, which she did by way of pretending to be bullied.

Bullying that the mother couldn't find any evidence of, and so she was being accidentally gaslit by her daughter. During this period of emotional turmoil the father was completely useless while Uichi tried to help, so mom latched onto him as her remaining bastion of sanity and support. Which led to her becoming violently possessive to the point of self-harm.

Had Clover not set things off by getting into the sister's head, they would have remained a normal (ie flawed but functional) family. His sister would have been forced to power through and do the work- like we all were- and would at least have her life somewhat held together. Dad's delusional toxic positivity would be little more than quirky optimism, and Mom would have remained sane, stable, and supportive.

To be clear, Yotsuba is just what Rei called Fuu-chan. Fuu-chan's real name is Futatsugi Futaba. See the ending page for the full explanation.
Whoopsie daisy, close enough. Ahem, anyways, she's still bassicly been hiding in plain sight.
