People like that do exist. It's typical spineless Japanese behavior. They'll get dragged around, get used and abused and get exploited by some other people, then they'll lower their heads, accept and tolerate the abuse, and call themselves honourable and righteous for sticking through with it all. They do all of this, and call it a "merit".
