I, for one, don't think they decided to overspecialize in the hero. At least not to the point they'll be a cakewalk for Cross.

Them not taking him into account definitely will throw a wrench into their plans, running enough of a distraction that at least a few of the stronger ones will end up caught up fighting Cross while Elysia fends off Irene...but that's where the blank comes in.

Will Ms. Phantom Thief come in and run interception? It feels like the barrier they just threw would stop her from getting into the fray before either of them manages to pull some growth, but will it be Elysia with the breakthrough her father was wondering about, Cross coming up with some new move to help Elysia out of a tight spot, or something else?

Definitely excited, since we both DON'T have a clear new move from Cross to try out WHILE having some lessons he could be pushed into mixing up, but do have the setup of Elysia being just short of having some breakthrough which could easily come to pass in this situation.

Yeah, she's more like she can feel it but hasn't learned of this kind of affection. But she is a bit sharp despite being clueless about love.
If I were to make a guess, she subconsciously used the cold and the warm-up as a pretext to approach him after she noticed he was thinking of other women. She wants to help with the cold for the good of both of them of course, but there's probably more than just helping (the latter she hasn't realized yet, subconsciousness and all that. Not wanting to lose him to others).
Her rivals better move fast while she's putting things together and being clumsy lol
