As much as I love this manga being GL and all, I personally don't think we will actually have a romance/an actual couple, or even a kiss. To me this manga seems more like ''Error 404: Men Not Found'' other than ''GL''. I'm still enjoying the story though, will continue reading even if there won't be romance.

I think it'll be the anime adaptation and the live-action series of her novel during her arc. We might even get her backstory too.

It's kinda understandable. A lot of rom-coms lose their charm once the characters get into a relationship or move beyond that, so many authors and editors avoid it. It's especially true in harem manga, where it can throw off the dynamic between the characters.

So I think your take is right. That said, Hiroyuki's last work, KanoKano, kinda made it work, so we can still hope, I guess.
