I assume he’s just saying ā€œnii-sanā€ or so but it sticks out when translated bc irl siblings don’t always call each other bro/sis rather than their names or it’s a nickname among friends/just a casual way of calling someone like you would say ā€œdudeā€ they also say Mr Kameyama rather than Kameyama San too
It's a cultural thing. Most Asian country don't refer to older sibling with name,it's more natural for us to just say big bro big sis or such. Translating it other way where he called him by name I'd argue is the weirder choice
