Yeah, I notice that for series that have really abrupt or poorly-written endings, people immediately blame the editorial team for cancelling it… even though some bad endings rest solely on the author.

So does Cattleya have the power to tie down a person's very soul so Kagura's didn't fly off? Or is the soul inside the aramitama and she just plucked it out because it isn't necessary for the key?
Cuz we've basically determined with her remaking Kagura's body that she has full mastery over all matter, not just dissolving it and making clones of herself. Controlling souls on top of that would be a bit too godlike imho.

Alternatively I suppose there's the option that there are no "souls" in this world and just recreating Kagura's body is enough to revive her, which in turn means that Cattleya can just create life at will which would be even more godlike, lol

This feels like a more sensible version of MK9's "He must win".

It seems like the Aritama themselves are manipulating Cattleya to break the cycle or erase themselves, boosting her power to such extremes. And basically beating Cattelya is to let her 'win' instead of fighting.

And the reason why people assume its axe because comparing to before, the pacing went from 'we have alot to do' to 'we trying to wrap this up as soon as possible'. The sudden breakneck speed.

I really don't see a believable way for our protagonists to win at this point.

Cattleya basically just instant-killed Kagura with a glance, then proceeded to revive her because she is that little threat to her plans. She knows where the last Mitama can be found and is already on her way there, meaning there isn't even time for any sort of training arc at this point.

It does seem less like an axe though, admittedly.

Axe or not this definitely feels like it's ending and the pace the got ten times faster after the monk guy died. Why introduce a whole bad guy group just to have them all get wiped after two encounters. They explained the entire lore of the world including the demon book thing to our protagonist instead of having the figure it out, also Cattle knew the whole time. Kaguya never really did anything with magic core before losing it. This clearly wasn't planned ahead. Even if it's by choice this writing took a massive turn and I don't know see how this couldn't be ending since everything essential to the plot before now has been explain away.

I think the author just really like big swerves storyline wise. Remember how abruptly we went from the MCs traveling to joining Cattleya's group?

Also I gotta admit I'm embarrassed I hadn't thought of Cattleya using her power over the cycle of life to only 'technically' kill her.
