When it comes to stories like this, I just want people to stop calling him dense cuz seriously, she've been teasing him ever since the first chapter. About the "amateur praising the artist" thing, yeh he could be dense about it. But the other talks they had, he knows, he's just avoiding it. Not sure the exact reason but, he just wants to be a chill guy unlike those girl picking modofokas we see in the first chapter xD

I'd have to re-read the early chapters to get the exact wording but its due to her being constantly hit on or harassed by men while she just wanted to chill and drink which she mentions to the MC when he gets sent to save her; after he gets the hint to not hit on her she comes back and mentions she liked that action.
She hasnt yet told him that hes now okay to 'get the hints' shes dropping so he automatically sits on the safe side of "shes just joking, as usual" and doesnt 'take the bait' so to speak.

In fairness, it is called out that she's drinking more than usual. She may've prescribed herself a little liquid courage to get this far.
