The epilogue chapters are pretty good. The revelations didn't feel like they added more questions than they answered. I get a small vindication in knowing my original theory wasn't completely invalid even though it was way off target. Kind of ironic that Mr.Howard in a way ultimately got what he wanted, through his child whom he wanted dead.

Kinda strange how Beth got literally lobotimized and this had seemingly no effect on her and was never brought up again.

also Kinda confused on what ultimately made "Mary"/No.53 switch sides? Was it just to assist a fellow Black Velvet agent?

This story has its hick ups but honestly wasn't an unenjoyable read

I agree with the lobotomy. And, I dont know if it was just me but I had trouble following some dialogues as the order seems confused in some scenes. But overall what a find. Short, sweet yet just, amazing art. Truly a gem amongst modern slop.

I agree with the lobotomy confusion, and I even question whether it happened at all.

About Mary, I would think this was her chance to disappear, for "53" to disappear. She would no longer be tethered to the Black Velvet and would gain her freedom. No longer an agent, she could start a new life. This was perfect for her. She had been observing and placed her bets on Beth, which worked.
