Lisa is actually the demon lord, taken human form to drive a wedge in hero's party, cause if they had been united then he would have lost. He infiltrated instead of killing them early on, cause either God would retaliate, or new hero party would be formed elsewhere, I forget exactly. In original manga, this story ended pretty much by chapter 20 or so.

Another implication of all this is that Sain was the hero here. It was thanks to him that Toru was lured onto the battlefield lol.

Why do the images look like that? have they been upscaled? Cause there is weird "ai" artifacting. Looks like it wasn't drawn at all. Mostly happening in the background but sometimes at the foreground. Sorry if this has already been asked but I'm not going through a ton of chapter discussions.

I don't think is AI. But is certainly digital. And that's nothing new. It's been many years before AI that many mangaka started using photoshop-like softwares.
Also mangadex is short of one chapter. In other places the next chapter is already available.
