such a sweet ending, sad that it's too short, if only they could have another 10 chapters... well time to read the LN maybe?

even if it was axed... this manga had better romance and y'know... humans (later a couple) that actually has contact with each other than a ton of other 300+ "romance" ones

Damn, was it actually axed, or just brought to the logical conclusion without stretching it over 100 chapters?

It's so sweet and nice, plus the art is godly

Welp, at least I am happy we get to read an ending to this story.
I started reading the manga version because I found the LN at a used bookstore, then bought and read the 3 volumes that were out back in 2024. The LN stopped publishing after Volume 3 (probably axed as well), and it left the story completely hanging. At least the manga version has an ending (Volume 3 went on a tangential Wakui-san arc that helped Chika realize that she's possessive about Souma, so I am not sure where the author was originally planning to take the story, but I think it was supposed to be more than just 3 volumes).
Sad to see stories with potential starting off strong but dying out. I hope the author keeps writing though, I haven't seen them update anything new after January 2025 even on Kakuyomu.
PS. Forgot to say, but thank you for the translation and sticking to the very end!

While I'm happy that it got an ending at all, and I get that they had constraints from the axe, I can't help but feel like they wasted the pages they were given.

Like, I'm not even mad about the misunderstanding from the last few chapters that a lot of others were upset by. But the confession and subsequent "I love you" back literally took 3 pages of the 44 total pages this chapter... and it DIDN'T EVEN INVOLVE THE CAKE?? The whole central theme of the manga was that he was trying to convey his feelings through his baking, and that was also what triggered the prior misunderstanding in the first place... and he just says that he loves her out loud instead?

THEY DON'T EVEN EAT THE CAKE IN THE PAGES WE'RE GIVEN, IT'S JUST IMPLIED

Maybe, maybe, in a 200 chapter version of this it would be funny or fitting for him to learn that he needed to speak his love out loud rather than relying on his baking, but that's not what we were given. I'm not a writer, but I feel like the obvious way to write this is that she actually tastes the cake, and realizes his feelings because the cake was baked specifically for her, therefore resolving the misunderstanding. Instead, we get 3 pages of the most basic love confession even written, which is a real shame.

It wouldn't have hurt to have at least one more volume, to show a bit of the side-ship hinted barely before, Souma's fun parents, and Chika's "carnivorous" side, and more importantly something other than that forced drama out of a misunderstanding that lasted seemingly months.
