How did a highschool boy end up with such a debt in the first place? Considering he just handed the money randomly over to an unknown girl of his own age, it doesn't seem like he owed money to a specific person. Like if he had trashed someone's bike and needed to compensate for it. In such a case, he would obviously know whom to give the money to. But giving it a person jumping out of a fancy car made it look like he borrowed money from yakuza. That's as shady as it gets.

I'm more inclined to know on how he get the money in envelope, my wild guess is he make a loan to cover other loan.
But then who in their right mind will give high loan to a teenager?

So, yea, this is simple chapter but it actually is giving the reader a lotsa question. This has a good potential for longer story, and it does not have to rely on cheesy school romance.

The idea of a romance like this, where the focus isn't really entirely on the romance itself, but a mentor guiding someone through the romance, is rather novel.
Also as stated above, it's nice that there appears to be no romantic love between the adult and teen -- which is far too common, to the point where it's the expected outcome now. :bleh:

I don't mind this becoming a series, how the chaffeur and the lady work together to find love for the Lady, which later had the Lady's teacher pulled into the mix to help become a matchmaker, before the said teacher falls in love with the chaffeur, while the Lady suffers in agony with her yandere personality (y)

What makes love good is not about love itself, it is about what is love and where is the love and FOR THE LOVE OF GAWD, GOD F@CKIN DAMMIT moment. :aquadrink:

Probably the usual "parents ran off and left the debt to child" cliche.

It's only 100k yen. That's like 500-600 euros. Parents wouldn't run away because of that. But then again, maybe the parents had multiple loans from all over the place, and that was just the smallest of them. Actually, that would even explain why the boy was so quick to hand the money over to someone unknown. He has probably been pestered by a dozen different loan sharks already.

That poor chauffeur is gonna have front row seats to the future insanity.

But still...

"You're the only one who would dare call me creepy." = "You're my only actual friend."

Hmm do anyone else smell that.

It seem either like a rich family going into bankruptcy with a hint of disappointment or does it smell like a rich girl losing all of her allowance because she went out with a person who put her in debt.

I wonder what it is?

soooo... that guy never got to pay back his debt.
Not good. Probably dead or off on his way to a life of slavery in some farm somewhere...
