In fairness, this is different because she has an actual reason for the hostility, beyond just being unable to express her emotions honestly. In fact if anything, she's like an... inversion of a typical tsundere? Her cute, sweet, friendly behavior is the real her, and not just some act she puts on for appearances' sake. It's the "prickly sailor-mouthed cunt" that's the act, and one she developed only after too many guys kept being pushy when she tried to be nice about turning them down.

The reason she ends up so flustered each time is because the MC is being so stubbornly sincere. He took what she said on the chin with his only objection being her accusation of his feelings being superficial, was totally understanding after hearing her explanation, and has so far refused to take advantage of knowing this secret side of her. He's completely throwing her for a loop by being a decent and earnest human being.

Gotta remember, this girl has had people trying to get in her skirt explicitly so they could feel like they did it with a little girl. More than once, evidently! So it makes sense for her to be so guarded and suspicious.
