If you are cutting the tail, you do it all at once, quickly and completely. Trying to starve out mercenaries' supplies is going to get bloody real quick.

That's the thing, it's not that they can't get enought to eat, it's that they can't get a sufficient ammount to leave.

Though I would like to say it should have been pointed out to Shuri what is happening, and who is ultimately responsible. Because it's only Japanman who hasn't figured out what's going on and just happily cooking for the villian on this piece.

TBF she was also the only one that made sense. She was the first one helped by him and also made just about all of his tools but the two are also complete open books to each other from basically the start. The level of trust and respect between the two couldn't be compared with any of the other women trying to get his attention

Yeah I noted in other threads how he seemed to pay more attention to her, like in 9.1 when his internal dialogue mentions her having beautiful skin right before he faints. Also in 7.3 there's a panel focus on her face right after he wonders to himself about if he'll ever find love.
It's actually rather impressive of the author to be setting this up for so long in such subtle ways.
