Growing up is interestingly different for different people.
Glad they're going this angle instead of some non-ending.

First loves are neat. When you start to think about another person's happiness in addition to or in lieu of your own. Especially at a really formative time in emotional development.

She got to indulge a bit in hers. It's whimsical and looking back would probably be a pleasant, if bittersweet experience if she were flesh and bone. My memories of decades ago are hazy, but I know don't look back at them with any illusions of fondness. And just a minor amount of cringe, which is normal haha.

I got the other end of the coin flip and quickly realized that far from having a chance, I was never even in the running when it came to my first love. Fun stuff. I still hope she's happy to this day, wherever she is.
