It's more likely that the brothers are scared of his talent and are using the fact they have blade aura to intimidate him and keep him under their thumbs. The dad genuinely seems to care for him, but in their practice match last chapter, Nova was actually overpowering his older brother with just his skill with the blade until the brother pulled out his aura and started abusing him and being all condescending.

I don't believe the brothers have any love for Nova, and are purely concerned about their positions being taken if his talent were to get noticed.

I have to question if the translation has any issues because the conversations just don't make sense. He doesn't want to provoke her...but did anyway? But it's kind of hard to rewrite this situation if I had to abridge it so maybe it really is just that stupid. It would not be the first WN I've ever read with this level of puerile and illogical plots and situations that still gets an adaptation anyway.

So author managed to "dampen the mood" successfully removing the "date" title from the date in an attempt to please the Japanese masses that for some reason hate when the ML and FL get together "officially" rather than just hanging around each other every day.

I don't really get the obsession by people like you to label everything wrong "cuse it's japanese". It must be really tiring to read Japanese manga while holding some grudge against them.

Even this series is incredibly silly, but it has nothing to do with being Japanese, and the poor writing in this case has nothing to do with that core concept either. You see this all the time in media in every freaking culture. Turns out most of the time if you have the leads shack up right away, it's boring. If that is really what you want, there are a plethora of Japanese romance manga that get to that right from the start and engage in other interesting topics instead. It's on you if you simply expect every series to conform to your preferences. I only criticize this series based on it's own contradictions.

God what was the point of that? From the brother's perspective he just provoked someone the head of their household is terrified of. The dad already said they wouldn't stand a chance if their two houses actually went to battle. What is the brother stupid? Even then he didn't follow through with jack squat. He insulted his little brother, made the so called "monster" mad, and then ran away the second he got a tiny wittle blood. Like okay, fine, you're scared of the "monster" with outrageous power and think little of your younger brother... why are you saying that in hearing range of the monster you're scared of? Are you stupid??

Then from the author's perspective... umm, did anything happen here? This was just 15 pages of them standing still. Before the brother came they said they were going on a date in town, and after the brother came they say they're going on a date in town. Nothing changed. It didn't take much to console Chia afterwards and the MC barely had any reaction at all. I thought he'd pull out that magic absorption thing in the crisis situation to hint more at a hidden ability. He said he'd stop the two from starting a bloody war but just stood there until his brother ran away... cool. This could've just been them going out on a date and the brother brooding/plotting in a cut-away. That'd have actually progressed the plot more and been more interesting. As a part 2 this is doubly weird. The author could've ended chapter 2 with the first part and then just started with chapter 3 with them sitting at a café in town. Actually yeah, the pacing would've been improved if they did that.

Actually this is pretty much grounds for starting a war... but as they're part of the same kingdom that won't happen. But keep in mind that as the head of her household with a massive territory, she is a duke/duchess in title and authority. Second son isn't even a full-fledged noble by right as he is subordinate to the dad and not even first in line for the head of household.

She could request him be disinherited/disowned for his disgraceful/dishonorable act of pointing his blade at a higher-ranked noble without cause; let alone one that is considered a guest and possible fiance to his brother. Alternatively, she could throw her glove down and murder duel him for his incredibly offensive non-sense and demand recompense from the family. Nobody is going to give a shit that she is a supposed "monster". She ended the war in the north - the kingdom would likely view her as a hero for her deeds. But hey, she wants the MC and likely has little to no idea how rough his brothers have treated him.

MC's dad at least seemed to be somewhat fair - giving him minimal territory with a personal maid to live his young life as a minor noble... But we'll see if anything more will be revealed about the rest of MC's family.
