★ Yagami Ryouya is just your average high school guy—maybe even too average. He doesn't really stand out, is shorter than most Japanese guys, and is pretty much a loner with barely any friends. One day after school, he sees a girl drop something from her bag. He calls out and hands it back to her. It turns out to be Tsurugi Riona, a quarter-foreign girl and the younger sister of his classmate, Tsurugi Reona. Being a light novel fan, Ryouya secretly hopes this little encounter will spark an epic romance. But reality hits hard: Riona just says a quick thanks and walks away.

★ Later, Ryouya goes to the mall to buy a new light novel. On his way home, he suddenly hears panicked screams. A random guy has gone totally crazy and is stabbing people left and right. Ryouya's first instinct is to run, but he stops dead in his tracks when he spots Reona and Riona. Reona is trying to drag her sister away, but Riona is totally frozen in fear. The attacker locks eyes on them. Without thinking, Ryouya dashes over and tackles the guy, doing everything he can to hold him off until the cops arrive. Just when he thinks it's over, the guy lunges at the twins again. Ryouya instantly uses himself as a human shield and takes a knife to the back. As the police finally arrest the attacker, Ryouya sees that the girls are safe before passing out.

★ The identical twins, Reona and Riona, are famous for their looks but have never actually been in love, despite rejecting countless confessions. When their lives were on the line and everyone else just watched, Ryouya risked his life for them. That heroic move completely stole their hearts. Since they consider themselves one soul in two bodies, falling for the same guy isn't an issue for them at all. To them, sharing him feels perfectly natural.

★ While visiting Ryouya at the hospital, the twins borrow his phone and secretly install a tracking and wiretapping app. Now they can track his location and monitor everything he does on his phone. After leaving, they find out Ryouya Googled "can you date a girl you saved?" which makes them super happy. Knowing he might have feelings for them triggers their massive possessive streak, and they vow to win his heart and make sure nobody else ever gets him.

★ Ryouya spends about ten days in the hospital. When he finally returns to school, he is ambushed by Reona and Riona outside a cafe. They had gotten super close from their daily hospital visits. They insist on walking to school together. Ryouya tries to say no, knowing it'll just make other guys jealous, but they don't give him a chance to refuse. Sure enough, showing up with the two most popular girls gets him a ton of nasty glares, jealous whispers, and insults from the other guys.

★ During lunch break, Ryouya sneaks off to his secret spot to eat alone. Out of nowhere, Riona finds him (even though he never told anyone where it is), and Reona quickly follows with a homemade bento just for him. Feeling bad about rejecting their hard work, he accepts it. The food is delicious, but the sauce has a weird, metallic iron taste to it. When he asks about it, they just smile and say it's a "secret family recipe." From then on, they bring him lunch every single day.

★ Since he missed almost two weeks of school, Ryouya is struggling to catch up before finals. If his grades tank, he'll be stuck in summer classes. Seeing him struggle, Riona offers to help him study, and before he knows it, the twins invite themselves over to his house. When he awkwardly asks if it's really okay for them to visit a guy's house, they just smile and say their family lets them do whatever they want.

★ When they arrive, Ryouya's little sister, Mio, is shocked to see him bringing home two gorgeous girls at once. Reona and Riona hit it off with Mio immediately, even asking her to be their "little sister" too. Plus, Ryouya's mom already knows and likes them from when they visited the hospital.

★ One morning, while Ryouya is getting ready for school, the front door just opens, and the twins walk right in. He freaks out and asks how they got a key. Turns out, his mom just gave it to them.

★ They plan another study session at Ryouya's place on a Friday. He gives them a heads-up that his parents are out of town and Mio is sleeping over at a friend's house. Instead of backing out, the twins get excited and ask to sleep over. Unable to say no, Ryouya frantically cleans his room, making sure to hide his onahole and porn stash under the mattress.

★ While studying in his room, Ryouya steps out to buy dinner. When he gets back, he finds that the twins have discovered his stash. They start interrogating him about what the items are used for. He tries to play dumb, but under their intense pressure, he finally spills the truth, feeling absolutely mortified.

★ While Ryouya is taking a shower, Reona and Riona suddenly barge in completely naked, saying they want to wash his back as thanks. Freaking out, Ryouya tries to escape but slips, falling right into Reona's arms. His face accidentally lands on Reona's chest, and his hands grab Riona's. The twins tease him, offering to take things to the next level, but Ryouya immediately bolts out of the bathroom.

★ Later that night, the girls want to talk about love. They admit they have zero experience and ask about his. Ryouya lies and tries to act cool, saying he's not a virgin. Instantly, the twins' eyes go dead, and they coldly demand to know who took his first time. Terrified, Ryouya confesses that he lied and has never even dated anyone, which instantly calms them down. He tells them to sleep in Mio's room, but they crawl right into his bed instead. When he tries to sleep on the sofa, they drag him into bed with them. The next morning, he wakes up shocked to see Reona sleeping in just her underwear. Riona casually explains that Reona just has a habit of stripping in her sleep.

★ On Saturday, the trio hangs out at the mall and drops by a cafe Riona recommended. It's packed with couples, making Ryouya feel awkward. Riona tries to order a special "couple's parfait," but the waiter says it's strictly for couples. Unfazed, the twins declare they are both Ryouya's girlfriends, clinging to his arms from both sides. The totally confused waiter just gives up and brings the parfait. Once it arrives, the twins take turns feeding Ryouya.

▼ Skipping straight to the main Yandere Event

★ During P.E., Ryouya sprains his ankle and goes to the infirmary, where he runs into Riona, who pricked her finger in sewing class. When he gets back, the classroom vibe is super tense. A girl from Reona's group accuses Ryouya of stealing her wallet since he was the only one absent. Reona steps in, defends Ryouya, and tells her friend to check her bag again. The wallet is found hidden in an unusual pocket. Reona then loudly warns the class that she knows people resent Ryouya for hanging out with them, but reminds everyone he took a knife for them. She threatens that she won't forgive anyone who tries to mess with him. (Plot twist: The whole theft was a setup by the twins to completely isolate Ryouya. Reona had her friend hide the wallet and timed it so Ryouya would look guilty. After this, the whole class is too terrified to approach Ryouya, giving the twins full monopoly over him without any interruptions.)

★ During summer break at a pool, a group of guys tries to hit on the twins, telling them to ditch the guy they are waiting for. Ryouya tries to walk away with the girls, but the guys start mocking the scar on his back. This makes Reona and Riona absolutely furious, since that scar is the ultimate proof of his sacrifice for them.

★ Since they are in their second year, they have to do a university campus tour. Ryouya picks Okayama City University to be close to his grandma's place. The twins immediately decide to tag along and aim for the same college. They stay at his grandma's house, and the twins intentionally act super sweet, making his grandma think Ryouya is dating both of them. The next day, they go to a huge theme park. On the Ferris wheel, Ryouya notices a couple making out. The twins offer to do the same, but he refuses. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind rocks their cart. Reona falls right into Ryouya, their lips crashing together, while Riona ends up falling right onto his lap.

★ To end the summer, they go to a fireworks festival in Chiba to avoid the Tokyo crowds. Guys are glaring at Ryouya out of pure jealousy, so the twins cling to him even tighter just to show off. By this point, Ryouya is so used to it he doesn't even pull away. After the festival, a train accident halts all services. With buses packed and taxis too expensive, the twins suggest staying at a cheap hotel nearby—which turns out to be a love hotel. Inside, Ryouya accidentally turns the TV to a porn channel. The twins then drag him into the bath and wash his entire body. They demand he returns the favor. He tries to only wash their upper halves, but they force him to wash everything. Mentally exhausted, Ryouya passes out on the sofa afterward. The next morning, they scold him for completely wasting a golden opportunity in a love hotel.

★ Ryouya secretly plans to buy them birthday gifts and consults Mio for ideas. While taking a break, the twins suddenly corner him, angry that he lied about visiting his aunt. With no way out, he confesses he was looking for a surprise gift. They immediately forgive him and drag him to a jewelry store. Per their demand, he buys them both couple rings. Ryouya is even more shocked when they make the clerk engrave "Reona x Ryouya" and "Riona x Ryouya" inside the rings.

★ Ryouya and Mio are invited to the twins' birthday dinner. It's usually a family-only event, but he is practically considered family now. When their parents ask about their relationship, the twins happily say they have a "special relationship," letting their mom's imagination run wild. At the end of the night, Ryouya is asked to put the rings on them. First, the twins put rings on Ryouya's left and right ring fingers, and then he puts the rings on their left ring fingers. They order him to never take them off, even at school. Note: Reona and Riona know Ryouya is too much of a coward to confess to them. So, they are planning to confess to him instead, carefully setting up a situation where he absolutely cannot say no.
