The antagonists are just starting to properly settle into their roles, we know next to nothing about the deities, or what's up with the netherworld to begin with. How it relates to the human world, what Iruma's parents are up to now... etcetera etcetera. I would go so far as to say this is the halfway point of the story.

cause as much as it is a good story, they are both reaching the end of the school time and hitting a climax point. final or second to last are the best descriptions for something hitting those points, and being nearly 500 chapters long alone brings it there too.
