Is the monkey actually weak? It looks smaller than a gorilla, but larger than the average male. In a straight battle it might be able to kill both of them easily, but maybe it's trying to avoid any injuries to make sure there aren't complications killing the rest of them? Maybe he's intimidated by their "samurai spirit"?

A chimpanzee which is significantly smaller than this thing can rip off a humans arm and beat you to death with it. If it is of the same group it can easily kill them.

That was terrifying. The scary part of that monkey was the eyes. It's gleaming and it feels like it stare right to your heart while at the same time you can't see anything on them because it's nothing there, just some shining hollows in the head.
