This is very frustrating to read,

I love how the manga is adding more to the story then the Novel did
How things get better with MC and his stepmother and younger siblings coming up! Where in the Novel, this was skipped over and things between them
The Empress is actually a good stepmother, the reason of her and Terry's hostility is because of her father and his side's BS about that situation all those years ago. They're BOTH under the impression he really tried to do something back then and if not for the quick actions of their staff, Terry might have been hurt, and he was trying again here. Only nope both times, it was MC being a good older brother and had no harm what so ever in his mind! Her father's faction just overreacted and her father "who she knows well enough" just let it happen because it worked beautifully at painting MC as a "bad seed" damaging his reputation and making both Terry and her assume the worse of him and that it's only because he was their father/husband's first born that he wasn't "properly punished" making them trust the Duke's word more!
Only after things were settled do they realize the truth, and things get better for MC, as in with his family COMPLETELY on his side, he gains an important ally in his stepmother. This also hurts her father's efforts to harm his reputation and isolate him more! Hell even the bad rumors involving "him trying to assassinate Terry" before.
And then they die in a fire later when someone DOES attempt to assassinate Terry, lets just say MC goes BIG BROTHER on the fools in aiding in wiping them out! Not that Terry's grandfather will ever NOT try to screw MC over if given a chance. As they say as long as MC has Succession Rights, even if he doesn't want the Throne and is happy to mind his business. Both the OLDER (Terry's Grandfather) and Younger Duke will keep coming after him! At least with the Empress on his side, he can PROPERLY cut off his mother's family as remember, other then his former nanny, AKA his aunt, they were worthless, acting as "his allies" while being crummy allies that his uncle ADMITTED to neglecting him on purpose and "he should be thankful he gets his attention at all despite allowing money for aid to be embzelled" (reminder his uncle is an ally of the Young Duke, so yeah he's on Team "MC needs to die to make the Young Duke's future succession plans work" despite MC being his Nephew) and his aunt was married out of the family, so she is no longer associated with them in any way. Meaning their effectively parasites on MC. So it's great Stepmom Empress was a great help in cutting those assholes off! It was quiet I believe, but won't look great once MC does get traction later and their on-purpose neglect comes to be noticed. Hence losing their guardianship over him, as said it's not like they were doing anything for him any fucking way! Even his Aunt did everything for him OF HER OWN ACCORD so that doesn't count as a plus for them, and REMINDER they allowed a POS to steal money that was meant for his care without concern, while his Maternal Grandparents, and other Aunt (that Uncle's Wife) demonized him to the Good Aunt's daughter, despite knowing it was taboo and RUDE to do that! So losing the Guardianship will be humiliating once he DOES gain individual power, not that it won't have them SHAMELESSLY act like they WERE good guardians to him

Yeah I read the novels through MTL and because I couldn't wait.
This story is amazing. Too bad there's no proper translations for the novels.

I think the king is more of a doormat than the mc, the clear example for me it's the butler. From chapter one he keeps voicing his opinion without being asked to, that is not his role and king just quietly accepting the disrespect everytime he's trying to dote on mc, his kid. Any other ruler from fiction would've sent his ass to the dungeon.

Rent, Bills, Helping my family out, buying something for my little nephews and nieces on their birthdays and MAJOR moments in their young lives, (basically I'm Uncle Moneybags despite being poor as fuck LOL, but I love my nephews and nieces, they are the future, and I want them to be as happy as I was when my own uncles and aunts did the same) And buying at least ONE-Two video game per month from my list and keeping my Rig pristine! Something MANY characters DO hold on him. Specifically one Bob Cutter who don't GIVE A SHIT he's the Emperor, in his mind he FAILS as a father
Though MC already said it, His position is WEAK since remember he was NEVER suppose to be Emperor or in the running in the first place! The reason the Two Duke's get AWAY with alot of their bad behavior is the YOUNGER ONE was pose to take the spot if not for his existance, his faction is too strong to provoke him much, but it's OBVIOUS he's looking for an EXCUSE if he can't take the throne peacefully then he'll take it by force, as said his faction is big enough that their WILL be damage if a "succession/civil war" happens!
The Older Duke is his father in law, the reason he gets away with ALOT is because it's FULLY AWARE that MUCH of Dad's Faction are loyal to HIM then they are Dad. So it would cause a DANGEROUS fraction if he was to throw a tantrum. AT best this action DID assure that well Put into Spoilers for the sake of the next chapter or so But
Terry and the Empress BOTH become wary of him now that they know MC isn't the bad seed he painted him as. Hell the problem with the bad rumors is it STINKS of "obviousness" as it doesn't give a good idea of MC character, anyone with Savvy will note REAL QUICK that it's slander and defame disguised in "if there's smoke" because of how overblown it is, after all, MC AGE is still taken to account, even IF others defaming him want to use his "unchildlike genius against him when it's CONVIENANT FOR THEM" as remember, they painted him as STUPID so this just makes it MORE obvious they're just out to get him!
However it DOES come back to bite them all in the asses when their schemes to ruin and/or get rid of MC only allow him to IMPROVE his reputation that yeah others point it out and MC realizes it himself, he can take the LONG way of being left alone by Terry getting older and having a Son/Heir, but that still won't assure he'll be left alone, largely cause even if the Old Duke croaks, the Young Duke is still a thing, and he won't tolerate ANYONE that is he, his brothers and eventual SISTER, or his father being alive for him to take the Throne, still suspicious the previous Emperor and the heirs before MC's father all just DIED like that. Especially as said, he was next for the throne if MC father didn't exist. He might just be trying to assure MC doesn't end up like his father, another "illegitimate unknown" that bites him in the ass in the future! As said, the only reason ANYTHING, including MC being this "EVIL Illegitimate Kid scheming assassination attempts or what not" is entertained is because their factions circle jerk it and they ALLOW it, or in the Young Duke's case, ENCOURAGE IT MORE OPENLY where the OLD Duke more or less lets his minions feed a fire and on occasion poke it to keep it going! Their ambitious idiots making overcomplicated actions for no good reasons doomed to blow up in their stupid faces! As said with the OLD DUKE, he effectively has lost the ear of his daughter and grandson who won't even ENTERTAIN his ambitious fueled PARANOIA (And self fulfilling prophecy if MC even cared) that MC might become a THREAT one day. That's the irony of these actions
As said, all this attempt to REPEAT WHAT HAPPENED WITH TERRY A FEW YEARS BACK did was show the Empress AND Terry that MC wasn't as bad as they thought he was, especially for the Empress, I'm assuming MEETING HIM is her wanting to get a feel for him and see if what her father and the others said about him was correct, after meeting him, she realizes he's NOTHING like what she was told, in their attempts to demonize him, all they accomplished is assuring when others ARE willing to give him a chance, they'll realize all that was said about him were that, LIES & SLANDER!

Frankly it gets old REAL QUICK in-universe, but fools will be fools (And it makes MC even MORE ADAMENT that Terry don't deal with this shit come his time to rule! The worse enemy to have is finding out the Sibling you tried to paint as the EVIL ONE wanting the Throne instead becomes DETERMINED to become his sibling that IS the Heir's greatest support so you are no where NEAR controlling or sabotaging them! And MC mostly does so because he would prefer to be left alone, it was obvious but fools can't feel "safe at night" unless they feel they crippled you and make unnecessary moves that more damage them then they do you!)
Sorry When I say FIRE, I was referring to any legitimy to the schemes and slander against MC, not anyone LITERALLY dying in a fire! Sorry for the confusion
Actually not a spoiler, I was referring to any legit to the Slander of MC character as well as trust in those claiming such!
