On the contrary, the fact she so enjoys receiving praise from her classmates makes me feel like she doesn't get praised much at home. I slightly know how that feels.

My grandfather is the type of person who seldom gave praise when I was growing up, only criticisms, yet I still wanted his approval for many years until I got tired of working hard to earn his praise. And when I did receive praise from other sources, I thrived off of that.

Again, that's just my personal opinion and theory and could easily be wrong

The thing about that is, a kid that is spoiled to death and gets praised for every small thing also develops an need to always be praised. It gives them an elated feeling and they constantly seek it out. Look at Railgun's Kongou Mitsuko.

Of course looking at her mother, I'm sure everything she does no matter how great is "To be expected of my daughter." or something along those lines. Just saying, there's no certain path when you encounter a person who feeds off of attention and praise.

She gives me the kind of vibes that her parents are super strict and expect her to be at her best. The type of parents who scold her if she does "poorly"(i.e. less than perfect) and if she does meet their standards, instead of praising her they instead say "that's to be expected. Why should we praise you for something you're supposed to be doing?"

A narcissist can be born from too much praise/attention or a lack of praise/attention. Her parents are definitely super strict but that doesn't contradict what I said.
