I don't think so, given 'the goddess' blessing. As it is a fact of life, everyone would believe in it and everyone including mc should have a blessing. But as mc's whole family line is without it i would guess there are other determining factors.

My head cannon till proven otherwise is that the goddess really doesn't play sides or there is a pair of them. They are an equal opportunity deities who's only interested in keeping both sides roughly balanced.

So if one side develops something a little to strong, something else is provided as a counter to keep things somewhat even...
