So, Elma is a noble and has a siscon brother who is a master swordsman? Well, at least Sato knows what he's headed into and has a chance to prepare accordingly. lol

The anime looks good, too.

Thanks for the translation.

He's already specialized as a pilot. Sword fighting in this setting sounds very niche so it's not something to learn without reason and even then you won't catch up with people who have studied it for years. Heck, he couldn't even legally carry it until recently. It's like me telling you to learn sword fighting irl because you might need it at 0.01% probability, but you can't usually have it on you legally.

Yeah the bro is siscon.

When they watch a broadcast, they see that the Crown Princess is a dead ringer for Mimi (cept slightly smaller boobs lol). So it turns out, Mimi is grand-niece to the King. The King's sister ran away from noble life just like Elma did, and those dramas Elma watched of a noble turned mercenary were inspired by her. Meeting with the King leads to the government people in the system from the beginning of the story being purged for how they treated Elma and Mimi.

Thanks for the scanlation.

O . o;

Not sure what you are on about. Sure there might be a few settings where the MC has a natural with the author's weapon of choice. But more often then not the main character(s) will go thrue a training montage much like Hiro did in this chapter. Even when not explicitly shown, most authors go out of their way to tell the audience their OC was trained in the background, or descendant some obscurely famous martial clan.

So just because some stories do show the main character being trained, doesn't mean it didn't happen off screen.

I bet Elma's big brother is gonna keep grilling MC non-stop. Just your typical hardcore siscon who can't let go of his little sister, like in every other manga or anime :dogkek:

Thank u always for ur great work...
^^...

Patched up planet? Artificial planet? Dying planet?
@.@...
Ecumenopolis. Basically a normal planet turned into one giant city.
On top of that it looks like it's got a ring to it. Very Stellaris like.
Second, im really curious to see how this capital arc gonna unfold.
It's gonna be a blast! :win:

I was gonna say, in the majority of series there'll usually be, at minimum, a timeskip or something between the "real" plot beats in which the MC is established to have been doing their damnedest to learn to fight, be that through traditional training (even if you don't see them sparring with someone or whatever, you'll at least get a panel of the MC cooling off after working up a sweat, implied to be their new routine) or just through fighting for their fucking life on the trip between plot point A to plot point B (constant goblin/bandit/etc ambushes), or from god literally just zapping the knowledge into their brain during the transfer process or whatever (hence the whole point of the overused videogame-esque "skills" trope, it handwaves the lack of combat skill by making the MC's body autonomously kick ass as soon as they're threatened without them needing to learn anything... worst setup IMO, but it still easily clears the "they don't acquire combat power" claim lol)... and even if you somehow don't get that, it'll probably be in the MC's backstory that they were the ace of the kendo/archery/karate club or whatever pre-reincarnation, so they at least have the fundamentals down. It's honestly kinda rare to have an MC have zero fighting prowess & stay weak throughout without ever learning to properly fight; this author's other series (the one everyone jokes about being the Minecraft Isekai) is one of the few that even comes to mind because his Bullshit Survival Game Powers include generating raw resources from nothing & transforming them into terrifying weapons of war with no technical knowledge needed, meaning he can quite literally nuke cities off the map before even the faintest premonition of "real combat" turns up & thus waving a gun around is the extent of his martial prowess lol.

For additional context, in the LN corresponding to this chapter, there was an entire bonus chapter from Elma's POV of her encounter and eventual joining with Hiro. It was explained that while she considered contacting her family about the massive debt, the system she was in is so far away that the communication would not reach her family in time, even with hyperspace & gateway comms.

Edit: Also, she sent the comms anyways since even if they can't get to her in time, they could at least get her off prison afterwards. Guess who is coming home while their family knows she could not pay off her debt and is now traveling with a merc. :dogkek:

Yes, and even that niche is concentrated pretty heavily in the upper echelons of society, particularly amongst nobles. The guy's explicitly been doing his best to stay away from those circles, so he would reasonably see no point in training the skill. Even when he has to fight on the ground, he has his mech, and if forced to fight on foot, a gun works just fine.
