I think he just wants to work on other projects personally and came back to finish the arc and give it some form of ending, he had a near year long hiatus from Dec 2025 - Sep 2026 to only come back for 7 chapters

It was announced in January that he was going to be working on a Rokudenashi Blues spin-off manga come Q3 2026 but in August they announced he was replaced as the artist, that might have been the reason he returned to Marshall King

Lack of sales. Usually on Shonen Jump+ mangaka are obligated by contracts for fixed amount of volumes. If they don't reniew it, its the end.
