Open? They accept the change and basically say they're gonna get married in the future. I wouldn't call it open.i hate open ending...
Anyway, I quite liked this, short and simple but I love this kind of story where they stay switched.

that was cute, i liked the "i still see you as a girl" as his language to say "i care and want to protect you", good old gender is a social construct, i'm down for a continuation where he learns he should also be taken cared and allows haruka to do it

They try swapping clothes, among other failed methods, to get back, but they liked it (only one of them admitted that to themself).
Later, one got a masculine haircut, and asked to have the hair be turned into a wig/extensions.
So anyway, the egg cracks intensify, along with a good bit of smooching interspersed.
But, what's this? One gets a sensitive chest, while the other starts [insert trans masculine transition effect].
The magic seeped into their bodies and now they have Hormones Replacement Tongues, whatever will they do next? 😉😉
Cue epilogue, they are at their marriage, and they are transitioned to their desired selves.

In some ways it's open ended, they're questioning themselves, what will they end up as, but in other ways they've solved the core issues of their relationship. Takumi is no longer basing his entire life around guilt. He's communicating his real reason for doing this: his care for her. And Haruka has cleared her own guilt, they've reset and decided to do the switch again actively, not as some tragic accident.
It's not all the way there, but their current relationship just looks so much healthier. They're both looking out for each other and openly asking what they really want, explaining their feelings (even if one won't admit it). In their own ways they've both stated that gender won't change their relationship, which means love is winning regardless. They can hash out and clean up any gender regrets as they go, which is good. They shouldn't have to have that all figured out in high school.

So Haruka ends up liking Takumi as a boy and later as a girl (maybe even moreso as the girl like she said in the last chapter), but Takumi only likes Haruka as a girl?

This was actually better than I expected. I was dully anticipating messy teenager hormones and dark undertones or something but we just get a lovely childhood friend ending.
